Creating a knowledge base
Prerequisite
- Access to the File > Knowledge base (KB001) menu.
Introduction
In this topic, we will create a knowledge base, used as a grouper, to store all articles on a given subject in an organized manner.
Using the knowledge base, it is possible to group articles through categories and subcategories, security controls, and multiple languages, among other characteristics.
As an example, the “IT Department” knowledge base will be created, which will group articles related to the IT department of an organization, such as work instructions and installation guides.
Creating a knowledge base
• Access the What is an identification mask? article to learn how to use identification masks in the knowledge bases.
• Access the What is a revision? article to learn how to configure the revisions of knowledge bases.
• Access the What is an attribute? article to learn how to create and associate attributes in the Attribute tab.
• Access the How to enable different languages for the knowledge base article to learn how to work with the knowledge base in different languages.
Conclusion
Once the knowledge base is created, it is possible to configure its security and create the categories that will be used to classify the articles.
