Creating an object with validity
Prerequisite
- Access to the File > Object menu.
Introduction
After associating the validity with a category or a type, we must create the object, as it will be necessary to execute the revalidation.
For example, if a corporate team wants to perform a revalidation, for this process to be enabled, it is necessary for an object to have been previously created with validity, as it is the main element to enable the revalidation.
Creating an object with a validity
1. Access the File > Object menu.
2. On the main screen toolbar, click on the button.
3. On the screen that will be displayed, select the category or type that will classify the object being created and save the selection.
4. On the screen that will be opened, enter the object identification data and define the responsibility for it.
The following fields related to the validity will be available:
Validity definition |
In this field, it is possible to define the validity in three ways: 1. By date: In this case, it will be necessary to fill out the Validity date field. 2. By deadline: If this option is selected, it is necessary to fill out the Validity field. 3. No validity: The document will not have a validity date. |
---|---|
Validity |
Displays the default time set in the validity configuration associated with the object category or type. If it is set in the validity configuration that the default time will be Fixed, the values of these fields cannot be edited.
|
Validity date |
Displays the date until which the object is valid according to the validity displayed/defined in the Validity field described above. On the displayed date, the due date task will be generated so that the revision/revalidation of the object is performed again. |
Revalidation | Displays the date on which the last object revalidation occurred. Therefore, this field will only be filled out after this operation is performed in the object. Use the button located next to it to view the data of the performed revalidation. |
5. Lastly, click on the button.
The previously mentioned steps provide an overview of the creation of an object with validity.
However, each component has its own specifications, which may alter this process.
Additional information
Clone of the created object
When a new object is created and its information is similar to that of the object created with validity, we can simply clone the object with validity and edit its data.
To do so, simply select the record and click on the More > Clone record option.
Note that, with this feature, the Author, Status, Hits, and Revalidation fields cannot be edited, maintaining the characteristics of the original object.
Conclusion
Once the object is created, the next step is to execute the object revalidation.
