Create a workspace
In addition to its own configurations, a workspace allows setting access permissions, lanes, notifications, and task types.
To create a workspace, just follow the steps below.
To finish the steps in this topic, we must have the flowchart created. See further details in the Create a flowchart topic.
1st step: Create a team
To create a team, access the KN002 menu, click on the arrow next to the button and select the "Add" option.
On the screen that will open, fill in the ID # and Name fields and save the record, but keep the data screen open.
In the Member tab, associate your user with the team and click on the button.
The team has been created successfully!
2nd step: Create a task type
A task type classifies the task options that will be shown to the user when creating a task in Kanban.
To this end, access the KN005 menu and click on the button:
On the task type data screen that will open, set an icon and fill in the Name field with "Development".
Repeat the procedure and create another task type named "Support".
After doing that, click on the button.
3rd step: Create the workspace
To create the workspace, access the KN009 menu and click on the button:
In the General data section on the screen that will open, enter the Name of the workspace that will be shown in the workspace.
In the Prefix field, we will identify the beginning of the task code.
This field allows adding up to 5 letters. In this example, we will create the "DSV" prefix.
Select the desired icon, and then, in the Methodology field, select the "Kanban" option, where the task flow is constant.
For the Management team and Execution fields, associate the team created in step 1.
Finally, in the Archiving time field, indicate for how long your tasks will be shown on the board being finished.
After that, save the record.
After saving the record, the Task flow and Columns
Select the Task flow section to associate the task types that will be available in the workspace and to indicate the flow each task type will use.
To perform this association, click on the button, select the task type created in step 2 and use the flowchart created in the Create a flowchart topic.
Then, click on the Save button to confirm the association and repeat the process for the "Support" task type.
Next, in the Lanes section, we will set how many lanes will be shown in the Kanban workspace.
To add a lane, simply click on the Add lane button.
In a Kanban, the tasks move from left to right, so we will represent this flow through the lanes.
Fill in the Title field with "To do", then drag and drop the "To do" step on the first lane.
Repeat this operation for the following columns: "In progress", "Tests", and "Finished".
In the In progress lane, associate the "In process" step; in the Test lane, associate the"Validation" step, and in the Finished lane, associate the "Reject" and "Done" steps.
After doing that, click on “Save and exit”.
