How to use task verification

Prerequisites

  • Previously created project task.
  • Verification enabled in the general parameters or on the task data screen.
  • Access to the Execution > Task verification (PR018) menu.

Introduction

Task verification is an important step for project execution control, as it allows for confirming if a task has been carried out in accordance with previously defined objects.

Through the Task verification (PR018) menu, verification can be performed by the users and teams responsible for the upper level task (summary) or by the parties responsible for the project to which the task is linked. This feature contributes to ensuring the quality of deliveries, identifying deviations, and validating the fulfillment of criteria established in the planning.

This article will demonstrate how to use task verification correctly in the system, ensuring greater diligence and transparency during the conduction of a project.

Configuring the verification

All project tasks will go through verification automatically if the Set task verification as default option is checked in the general parameters of SoftExpert Project. Click here and learn how to enable this option.

If automatic verification is not checked in the general parameters, it must be enabled directly on the task data screen. Click here and learn how to perform this operation.

Verifying a task

1. Access the Execution > Task verification (PR018) menu.

2. Select the desired task and click on the toolbar button.

3. In the Verification section, edit the Verification date field and select the date on which the task was actually verified.

4. View the task data and, in the Acceptance field, select "Yes" to accept or "No" to reject the execution of the task.

5. In the Comments field, record important information about the task verification. If the execution of the task is not accepted, filling in this field will be mandatory in order for the rejection to be explained.

6. Click on the button to finish.

  • If the task has its execution rejected, it will be sent back to the task execution menu so that the responsible party executes it again.
  • If the task has its execution accepted, it will be closed.
  • This operation can also be performed through the task verification to-do task or through the project schedule, when the latter is accessed via the project tracking menu.

Conclusion

Upon verification, the task is formally validated, which reinforces the control over its execution and contributes to the traceability of obtained results. This practice strengthens project management, ensuring that deliveries are in agreement with expected standards.
