Prerequisites

• Access to the File > Material (PM012) menu.
• Access to the Configuration > Classification > Material type (PM038) menu.

Introduction

Materials represent the physical resources or inputs used in the execution of the activities of a process. In SoftExpert Process, adding materials allows registering and organizing these resources in a structured manner, ensuring greater clarity in the documentation and understanding of the steps involved.

As well as the information, the materials will make up the input and output flows of the processes.

To illustrate, the creation of the "A4 Paper – Pack of 500 sheets" material will be demonstrated, which can be used in the inputs and outputs of a purchase request process.

Creating a material type

Before adding materials, it is possible to create all types that can classify them.

These types are organized in a hierarchical way, which facilitates the organization of the materials created in the system.

1. Access the Configuration > Classification > Material type (PM038) menu.

2. Click on the button.

3. Enter an ID # and a name for the type.

4. If necessary, add an Upper level type that, on the main screen hierarchy, is one level above the record in question.

5. Click on the button.

Creating material

1. Access the File > Material (PM012) menu.

2. Click on the button.

3. On the screen that will open, enter an ID # and a name.

4. Select the type that will classify the material. To do this, click on the button to search for previously created material types or on the button to add a new type.

5. If necessary, enter additional data on the material in the Description field.

6. Once the records are finished, click on the button.

Conclusion

After its creation, the material can be associated with the input and output flows of the processes.
