Adding process costs

This article is valid for the new Process (PM063) unified menu in system version 3.0:

  • Access the release notes for further details about the significant changes in the unification of the menu.
  • Click here to access the valid documentation for the former creation menu.

Prerequisites

Introduction

Recording costs in the process data helps control and analyze expenses. For example, in a purchase request process, one of the costs may be shipping. By recording this value, it is possible to analyze the shipping costs of different suppliers in the future.

The system allows associating the costs obtained in the execution of the process, disregarding the expenses of used resources.

In this article, as an example, the "Freight" cost will be associated with the process data.

Adding costs

1. Access the Process (PM063) menu.

2. Locate the process you wish to configure and right-click on it.

3. Select the Open data option.

4. On the left side of the screen, click on the Cost tab.

5. Check one of the following options:

Current process Check this field to view and/or add the process costs.
Process activities Check this option to view the costs associated with the activities of the process.
All sub-levels Check this field to view the costs of all process levels (sub-processes and their respective activities, in addition to the activities of the process in question).

6. Upon checking Current process, the add option is enabled. In this case, click on the Add icon. button to open the Cost data screen.

7. Enter the cost that the process will have. Click on the Search icon. button to search for a previously created cost or on the Add icon. button to record a new cost.

8. Enter the total quantity of this cost in the process.

9. Enter the unit value of the cost.

10. Click on the Save and exit icon. button.

  • For the activities, decisions, and sub-processes of this process, the addition of costs will only be allowed through the data of every activity/decision or sub-process.
  • When an activity/decision/sub-process cost is added, it will also be added to the costs of the process. Thus, the cost list of the process is a sum of all the costs (quantity and value) used in activities/decisions/sub-processes that compose it.

Conclusion

Process costs will be duly recorded. If no other configurations are necessary, click on the Accept revision button to release the process.
