Configuring non-conforming measurements

Prerequisites

Introduction

Non-conforming measurements block the addition of values that exceed a variation percentage during the reading of a characteristic in relation to its specification. This configuration is exclusive for characteristics of the variable type.

Non-conforming measurements are established to identify extreme values, such as measures or results that do not meet the expectations, which may derive from reading errors, equipment failure, or operational issues.

Application example: suppose the lower limit is 215.00 and the upper limit is 245.00. If the non-conforming measurement is 10%, the user will not be able to enter values greater than 269.5 (245.00 + 10%) and lower than 193.50 (215.00 – 10%).

The steps for performing this configuration will be presented below:

Configuring non-conforming measurements

1. Access the Management > Collection planning (SP003) menu or the Management > Collection tracking (SP004) menu.

2. Select the desired collection and click on the button.

3. Click on the Characteristic section and select the variable characteristic whose non-conforming measurements you wish to configure.

4. Click on the button.

5. On the characteristic data screen, access the Alarm tab.

6. Check the Non-conforming measurements option.

7. Enter the acceptable percentage.

8. Click on the button to save the configuration on the characteristic data screen.

9. Click on the button to finish.

Conclusion

Once a non-conforming measurement is established for the characteristic of a collection, the system can identify which reading variables are outside the expected range and issues an alert if this limit is exceeded, preventing the record from being saved.

Thus, incorrect information will not impact the analysis and decision-making, ensuring the quality of the data used in process control.
