Configuring external user access - Authentication
Prerequisite
- Access to the Configuration > Authentication (CM008) menu.
Introduction
External user access must be configured in the system. For such a purpose, the Authentication (CM008) menu must be used.
See how to make the necessary adjustments:
Configuring external user access
1. Access the Configuration > Authentication (CM008) menu.
2. Select the External user access tab and perform the necessary configurations.

External users
Allow external users access to the system: it allows external users to access SoftExpert Suite through the URL shown in the Address for external users access field.
This way, the External user portal menu will be enabled to allow for configuring the operations that external users can access, as well as defining the information they can view.
Allow users to request forgotten password: it allows external users to request the password recovery e-mail.
On the external user login screen, the Forgot password? option will be shown for the user to request a new password, in case they have forgotten their previous one.
This option will only work if the e-mail server is properly configured.
Enable single sign-on for external users: it allows external users to use the main login screen to access the system.
With this option enabled, external users are not limited only to the access ULR available in /external-login.
Address for external users access: link for access to the external user portal. Use the Copy button next to the field to copy the URL and pass it on.
External user self-registration
Allow self-registration for external users: when a user accesses the external user portal through the link available in the Address for external users access field, the login screen will display the Create account button so that they self-register.
In the Default license key field, select the key that will be automatically assigned to the external users that self-register.
If this option is not enabled, external users will only be able to be registered by an internal user, through the File > External user (AD060) menu of the Administration component, or through the Contact section of a company's data screen.
Require the approval of the self-registration of external users: when an external user self-registers, they will only be allowed to access the system after their registration is approved, through the File > External user (AD060) menu of SoftExpert Administration.
If this option is not enabled, access will be granted to the external user once they confirm their registration via the e-mail that the system will send to the provided address.
• For confirmation e-mails to be sent correctly to external users, the system must be enabled to send e-mails and there must be a valid e-mail server configured.
• The license key assignment configuration applied through this menu does not impact external users already registered.
• See more details on adding and approving the self-registration of external users.
Conclusion
All done! Now you know how to configure and allow access for external users.
