Checking the audit trail

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Configuration > Monitoring > Audit trail (CM002) menu.
  • Enabled audit trail.

Introduction

The audit trail is a means for the administrator to monitor changes made within the system. This menu allows for knowing who was responsible for a status change in system information, when and how it happened, as well as the cause.

Depending on the applied configurations, the audit trail can store relevant data, such as:

  • User who edited the information.
  • IP of the host that requested the information change.
  • Date and time of the information change.
  • Type and ID # of the object whose data was changed.
  • Attribute whose data was changed.
  • Executed operation (insertion, editing, or deletion).
  • New and former values.
  • Value type.
  • Confirmation of the use of a countersign to perform the operation.
  • Reason the user provided when performing the operation (if any).

See how to access all this information:

Viewing the audit trail

1. Access the Configuration > Monitoring > Audit trail (CM002) menu.

2. Click on the SEARCH button to display all audit trail results.

3. If necessary, use the Search filters to refine the search and only view the changes made in the system within a specific period.

Conclusion

All done! Now you know how to view the audit trail in order to check the changes made in the system.
