Initial configurations

Before reporting an incident, filling out attributes and more, it is necessary to configure the process with automation via incident, to define the incident type, among other operation.

See how to perform them.

1st step: Configure process for automation via incident

The first necessary configuration to report incidents is the automation of a process.

In this example, we will use a copy of the "Purchase Request" process to configure it according to the needs of the SoftExpert Incident component.

To perform this step, go to the PM022 menu and, in the Quick search field, search for the "Purchase request" process.

Then, select the process and click on the More > Clone record button.

On the screen that will be opened, select the current revision in the Reference revision field and fill out the ID # field with "com01" and the Name field with "Purchase request incident".

After doing that, click on the button.

Back to the main screen, select the process created from the copy and click on the  button.

Access the Automation tab and, on the Component field of the screen that will be displayed, select the "Incident" option.

After doing that, click on the Save and exit button.

Thus, the configuration has been successfully set!

2nd step: Creating a task type

Through the type, it is possible to sort the incidents that will be recorded in the system.

To do that, access the IN009 menu and click on the button.

On the incident type data screen, fill out the ID # field with "IN01" and the Name field with "Incident type", and select the "Purchase request incident" process according to the image below.

After doing that, click on the button.

3rd step: Configuring the incident status

Once the process is configured with incident automation, we will associate the desired statuses with its activities.

Access the PM022 menu and, once the process is selected, click on the button.

On the activity data screen, select the "Request" activity.

On the activity data screen, access the Configurations > Status tab.

In the Incident status field, click on the button.

On the screen that will open, fill in the ID # field with "ANL" and the Name field with "Analyzing", and click on the button.

After doing that, click on the Save and exit button.

On the flowchart screen, select the "Instantiate process" option.

Then, in the Incident type field, select the previously created "Incident type" incident.

After doing that, click on the button.

Now, click on the Evaluate process button to check if the process modeling has any errors. If all is correct, the result will be: "There are no errors".

If any errors are found, they will be listed in the result.

Then, click on the button.

The incident was configured successfully!
