Create a competence
Competence is the mobilization of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the performance of activities or functions, according to quality and productivity standards required by the nature of the work.
To reach this goal, follow the steps below:
1st step: Creating a competence type
The objective of the type is to divide competences according to criteria set by SE Suite users or managers. This division can be, for example, between behavioral and technical competences.
To do that, access the CO019 menu and click on the button.
On the screen that will open, fill in the ID # field with "MS" and the Name field with "Managerial Skills".
After doing that, click on the button.
The type was created successfully!
2nd step: Creating a proficiency scale
The proficiency scale defines the levels and divisions of a knowledge according to the guidelines of the company or SE Suite managers.
To create a scale, access the CO020 menu and click on the button.
On the screen that will open, fill in the ID # field with "EXPS" and the Name field with "Experience scale".
Then, access the Proficiency level tab and click on the button.
On the screen that will be opened, fill out the following fields:
- ID #: Inexperienced
- Name: Inexperienced
- Score: 0.00
Save the record. Add other proficiency levels as displayed in the image below:
Once done, click on the button, confirm the system request, and click on the button to close the revision.
Thus, we have successfully created a proficiency scale!
3rd step: Creating a competence
Developing human resource skills and competences aid in increasing performance throughout the organization.
Competences shape the definition of the behavioral and technical knowledges of the employee. Records can be created by SE Suite users or managers.
To create a competence, go to the CO004 menu, click on the button, and select the Managerial skills type.
On the screen that will open, fill in the following fields:
- ID #: "TM".
- Name: "Team management".
- Proficiency scale: "Experience scale".
On the Evaluation item tab, click on the button and create the records according to the image below.
This tab displays the possible items to be evaluated from a competence. When entered, the competence score will be calculated based on these items.
After that, click on the Save and exit button.
Thus, we have successfully created a competence!
