Prerequisites

Presentation

The inspection process consists of recording the tests that verify the quality of the production process. The screen may include a pre-inspection record, if configured, with the completion of forms or checklists before the main stage.

In production inspection, the characteristics of the item or process activity to be evaluated are presented. The tests are opened in the Test Results tab, where measurements are taken and the tests are documented.

Each sample receives the status “Passed”, “Failed”, or “Conditionally Approved”. The final test result will only be approved if all samples pass; otherwise, it will be considered failed.

For demonstration purposes, the execution of the steel bar test is shown immediately after the creation of the production inspection.

Executing production inspection

1. Access the Execution > Production menu: Production Inspection (IP063).

2. Select the desired production inspection and click the button to open the structure.

3. Fill in the previously registered shift. For more details about registration, click here.

4. Access the Test Results tab and click the button .

5. The following information will appear on the screen that opens:

A - Test result

Based on the readings in ( C ), the result of the test is assigned, which can assume the following options:

  • Passed : when readings outside the limit or rejected items are still within the acceptable quantity (Ac) defined in the sampling plan.
  • Failed : when readings outside the limit or rejected items exceed the acceptable quantity (Ac), reaching the rejection limit (Re) of the sampling plan.
  • Conditional approval : when a sample failed, but the user chose to register it as "Passed" by clicking the corresponding button. In the system, this condition is indicated by the color yellow.
B - Number of samples for the test Indicates the number of samples needed to complete the production test. This number may vary depending on the sampling plan defined for the characteristic.
C - Readings This section records information about the characteristics that will serve as the basis for generating the sample result and, consequently, the test result.
D - Buttons They allow navigation between the samples in the test. The Next button allows you to advance to the next sample, the Previous button returns to the previous sample, and the Finish button ends the test, being enabled only in the last step.

6. Fill in the readings and click the Next button.

7. Repeat the procedure until you reach the Summary stage and evaluate all samples.

If the test result is not "Passed", filling in the Observation field will be mandatory.

8. To finish the essay, click the Finish button.

  • The number of samples varies according to the settings made in the item or process activity that contains the feature.
  • If the test fails, the system will request a new test, as defined in the feature configuration in SoftExpert PDM.
  • After the tests are carried out, it is possible to consult the graphs and results, which can be viewed individually by characteristic or in a consolidated way for the entire production inspection.

Execute production inspection approval

Upon completing a production inspection, you will be able to execute the approval actions. To do this, follow these steps:

1. In the inspection data screen toolbar, use the Approve or Reject button. In both cases, it is possible to enter a comment, but in the rejection action, the field becomes mandatory.

2. If everything is correct, click the Approve button to complete the inspection. Otherwise, select Reject to return to the previous step.

The actions can only be carried out by members of the responsible team defined during the inspection setup.

Conclusion

With the resources of SoftExpert Inspection, conducting production inspections becomes a standardized and traceable process for evaluating product quality throughout the production cycle. Through the systematic recording of tests, the use of checklists and forms, as well as the definition of responsible routes, the system ensures product conformity, enables the detection of non-conformities, and strengthens the reliability of the results obtained.
