• Access the menu Registration > Receiving Inspection Form (IP003).

Presentation

An initial sample indicates that the item is under evaluation and, therefore, all its characteristics will be inspected. When this control is enabled in the system, the first receipt of the item or supplier will be automatically treated as an initial sample. Furthermore, whenever a new revision of the item is released, it will also be considered a new initial sample. 

In this article, we will use the configuration of the inspection sheet for the steel bar object as an example, demonstrating how to register and parameterize the control of the initial sample in the system. 

Configuring initial sample

1. Access the menu Registration > Receiving Inspection Form (IP003).

2. On the inspection form, go to the Initial Sample tab and check the Control Initial Sample option to enable the fields.

3. In the Sample section, select the initial sample status and set a deadline for receiving it.

4. If necessary, check the "Control initial sample validity" option so that, when the validity expires, a new initial sample will be requested by the system. In the fields that will be enabled, define the frequency of initial sample control in days, weeks, or months.

5. Specify the storage location for the initial sample. For more details, see the article Register storage location .

6. In the Notes field, add any additional information about the inspection.  

7. Save the information to complete the setup.
