How do the structure and permissions of the Objective menu work?

Prerequisites

  • Access to the SoftExpert Configuration > Configuration > Access group (CM011) menu.
  • Access group created with a Manager license that contains SoftExpert OKR.

Introduction

The Objective (OK002) menu has a key role in managing all aspects related to objectives and their key results, covering the entire life cycle of these objectives, from creation to closure.

By checking the Objective menu to an access group, the administrator can define the menu permissions for the members of that group, defining the resources and actions that will be available on the screen.

These permissions are designed to ensure that the members of the access group have an adequate role in the objective life cycle, according to their responsibilities and involvement. The division between planning and execution permissions is particularly useful to ensure that strategic and operational aspects of objective management are performed efficiently.

Structure and permissions

There are three permission types within the Objective (OK002) menu that can be assigned to users:

View

  • For users with view permission only, the screens will be available in read-only mode. This means they can view the details of objectives and their key results, but they cannot edit their data or statuses or perform check-ins. This restriction grants access to relevant information to stakeholders or team members who must track the progress without the ability to perform significant changes.

Execution

  • It allows users to check in the objective results, updating its values and providing information about the progress.
  • It authorizes limited adjustments in key results, providing controlled flexibility during execution.

Planning

  • Allows users to create objectives and its key results, contributing to the planning process; change information associated with the objective, performing adjustments as necessary; perform check-ins in the objective results, providing information regarding the progress; and change the objective status, enabling a dynamic management of the progress.

These options within the Objective (OK002) menu vary according to the license key profile. For further details, click here.

In addition to the access group configuration, there are objective security list controls. The security can be restrictive or more specific, controlling the permissions per record.

Conclusion

By centering these features in the Objective (OK002) menu, the system provides an integrated and efficient approach to objective planning, execution, and tracking, simplifying the process and ensuring users have the right tools to perform their activities.
