Using the Word Online add-in
Feature available exclusively from system version 3.1 onwards.
Prerequisites
- Microsoft 365 integration configured in the general parameters for direct editing in the system.
- A Word Online account.
- Previously created document.
Introduction
With the new SoftExpert Document editor, two new menus were made available: Content block type (DC065) and Content block (DC066).
These menus allow the user to create and manage reusable content blocks, such as contractual clauses, standardized excerpts, or institutional texts.
Content blocks work as a centralized repository and can be inserted directly into documents via SoftExpert Editor, with just one click.
Now, it is also possible to easily add blocks to Word Online files by means of an add-in.
See how to configure and use the add-in for Word:
Using the add-in in Word
1. Access the electronic file screen of a document.
2. Select the Discover the Word add-in option.
3. Click on the flagged option to download the add-in for Word.
4. Then, open a blank document in Word Online in a tab of your browser. Or select a .docx file in the electronic file screen, expand the More button, and click on Edit electronic file.
5. With Word Online open, click on Add-in and then on Advanced.
6. On the screen that will be displayed, click on Upload My Add-in.
7. Select the add-in file that was downloaded and click on Upload.

Inserting the add-in authentication key
After step 8, when opening the add-in, it is necessary to enter an authentication key, the API Token.
To do so, follow these steps:
1. Log in to SoftExpert Suite and go to the User menu (user icon or picture in the upper-right corner of the screen).
2. Click on the Account tab and then on API Gateway.
3. Click on the Generate a new token option and copy the code.

4. After copying the token, paste it into the Access with API Token field of the add-in, again on the Word screen.
5. With the authentication key inserted in the add-in, select the content blocks you want in order to add them to the document.
If you did not find the token, click here and follow the technical instructions.
