Translating an electronic file
Feature available exclusively from version 2.2.3 for customers that use the SoftExpert cloud platform and have SoftExpert Copilot.
Prerequisites
- Access to the Document (DC010) menu.
- Document previously created with a file in the Electronic file tab.
- "Translation" option enabled in the "Control" tab of the document category.
Machine translation
- Google V3 API configured in Copilot > Configuration > Integration center (COP010).
- Available only for .pdf .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files.
Introduction
SoftExpert Document allows associating translations with the same document, making it easier to manage content in multiple languages in a centralized way.
With this feature, it is possible to add translation files automatically using artificial intelligence, as well as manage translated versions throughout the revision process.
During the revision, participants can edit and approve the document and its translations in an integrated way, ensuring content consistency.
At the end of the process, the document is made available with all associated translations, allowing users to access the versions in the desired language. For documents in PDF format, the system allows switching between translations directly in the viewer.
The system also provides machine translation via the Google v3 API, speeding up the creation of document versions in other languages.
Translating an electronic file automatically
1. Access the Document (DC010) menu.
2. Locate the document and right-click on it.
3. Select the 
option to open the document data.
4. Access the Electronic file tab.
5. Select the PDF you want to translate.
6. Expand the Add button and click on the Using translation wizard option (or expand the 
button in the file line and click on Translate file).
7. In the From field, select the Machine translation option.
8. In the To field, select the language into which the file copy will be translated.
9. Click on Finish.
Translating an electronic file manually
1. Access the Document (DC010) menu.
2. Locate the document and right-click on it.
3. Select the option to open the document data.
4. Access the Electronic file tab.
5. Select the file you want to translate.
6. Expand the Add button and click on the Using translation wizard option (or expand the button in the file line and click on Translate file).
7. In the available field, drag the translated file from your directory.
8. In the Language field that will be enabled, select the language of the translation being added.
9. Click on Finish next to the language field.
10. The translation file will be added below the original file.
When creating a document revision with manual translation files, the system will copy the file with its respective translations.
Viewing translated files
When there are translation files in the document, it is possible to view them through the EF (Electronic file) column of the main menu:
