Defining the security of a workspace
Prerequisites
- Access to the Management > Workspace (KN009) menu.
- Being a member of the management team defined in the workspace.
Introduction
The security of a workspace refers to the permissions of its tasks. That is, the manager uses it to parameterize who will have access and which permissions certain people will have on the tasks.
See below how to define the security of a workspace:
Configuring the security of the tasks
1. Access the Management > Workspace (KN009) menu.
2. Find and select the workspace whose security you wish to configure.
3. Click on the button.
4. Go to the Security tab.
5. There will be a list of permissions: Create, View, Edit assignee, Clone, Delete, Edit, Move, Prioritization.
6. By default, the Public option will be enabled for all permissions. Disable it.
7. Now, the Execution team, Assignee, and Reporter options will be enabled.
8. Select who will have the permissions to take actions on or edit the tasks.
9. Click on Save.
Workspaces configured with the Scrum methodology, in addition to the Task security section, have the Sprint security section.
Parameterize the controls related to the sprint in this section.
Permission groups
- Public: All users with access to the board.
- Execution team: Users who are part of the execution team associated with the selected workspace.
- Assignee: User selected in the "Assignee" field, on the data screen of the created task.
- Reporter: User selected in the "Reporter" field, on the data screen of the created task (not necessarily who created the task).
Conclusion
Once saved, the security parameterizations will be applied to the workspace. The security can be redefined whenever necessary.
