Project - 2.2.1

From version 2.2.2, SoftExpert GanttChart will be discontinued; project management will be performed through Project schedule.

Project and program security

From version 2.2.1 onwards, aiming to improve the management of access controls, the SoftExpert Project security is now based on permission profiles.

Previously, only members of the responsible team and the user responsible for the project could edit the created records in projects and programs. Other users, including departments, positions, users, and teams, could only view the data, without making any changes.

The following changes have been made with this feature:

Permission customization

With the new security, it is possible to create detailed access profiles, including permissions to: edit, delete, view, list, and view finances.

These profiles can be assigned to: teams, organizational units, departments/positions, positions, and users, enabling a more precise management of projects and programs.

Public security

For projects and programs defined as public, we have implemented a default configuration.

Through the ALL - Project permission profile for projects and ALL - Program for programs, all users will have the defined permissions.

For public projects and programs, only users and members of the teams responsible for the task will be able to edit the records through the PR011, PR053, PR013, PR054, and PR016 menus.

Restricted security

For projects and programs defined as restricted, all responsible users (responsible for the project/program and members of the responsible team) will have basic permissions: edit, delete, list, view, and view finances.

In addition to the preset permissions, it will be possible to add new teams, organizational units, departments/positions, positions, and users, and define the access profiles.

For restricted projects and programs, in addition to users and members of the teams responsible for the project/program, users with access to edit and delete will be able to edit the records through the PR011, PR053, PR013, PR054, and PR016 menus.

Stakeholder feature discontinued

As the "Stakeholder" feature is being discontinued, all related data has been migrated to the new security system.

Users with the access level of the Responsible type in the Stakeholder have been migrated to the ALL - Project and ALL - Program permission profiles respectively, while Stakeholders were migrated to the STAKEHOLDER - Project and STAKEHOLDER - Program profiles respectively, with access to "List" and "View".

Portfolio security

Aiming to standardize the security of SoftExpert Project objects, the portfolio security has also been edited, enabling the definition of permission profiles for the users.

With these changes, it will be possible to create permission profiles with access to edit, delete, view, and list.

Profiles can be assigned to teams, organizational units, departments/positions, positions, and users.

For public portfolios, a default configuration has been implemented.

Through the ALL - Portfolio permission profile, all users will have basic permissions: edit, delete, list, and view.

For restricted portfolios, the basic permissions of the ALL - Portfolio permission profile will be automatically defined for the user who created the record.

In addition to the creation user permissions, it will be possible to add new teams, organizational units, departments/positions, positions, and users, and define the access profiles.

The previous portfolio security feature had no access control; thus, all related data has been migrated to the ALL - Portfolio permission profile.

Project end estimate

From this version onwards, it will be possible to calculate the estimate for the end of projects under execution, enabling a precise visualization of when the projects or tasks that are past due will be finished.

The calculation is based on the following rules:

  • Past due tasks under the "To be started" status are treated as if they were started on the date in which the estimate is being calculated, and their end dates are adjusted according to their durations.
  • Tasks on time under the "To be started" and "Under execution" statuses are considered as finished in the rescheduled end date.
Past due tasks under the "Under execution" status are treated as if they were finished on the date in which the estimate is being calculated.
  • We will also consider predecessor activities and their possible lag to estimate the actual start of the activities.
  • If activities have restrictions other than "As soon as possible" or "As late as possible" and are past due, we will consider that they will be finished on the execution date of the estimate.

To perform the project estimate calculation, simply access the Management > Project tracking (PR013) menu, click on More, and select Calculate end estimate.

After the calculation is finished, the "Estimated end date" field on the project and task data screens will be updated with the calculated dates, clarifying the conclusion deadlines.
