Analytics - 2.2.0
Improvements in the vision editing panel
Aiming to deliver greater experience and usability to vision editing users through the side panel, this version has received another batch of improvements in order to consolidate the new editor and fully replace the old one.
Among the main improvements, the following stand out:
- Color options
The color palette suggested in the series configurations has been improved. Now, in addition to the colors of the default team, colors that work as a situational or severity indicator have been added, such as: green, yellow, red, and others.
- Field selection
By clicking to add a field to the vision, the field list now opens on the right side instead of over the side panel, enabling a better field selection, without covering the previously added fields.
- Filter addition
When selecting a field to be filtered, the options to define the filter are now automatically displayed to the user, without the need to click on Apply to confirm.
- Shortcut to features available in the fields
Now, when right-clicking on an added field, a list of the features available in the filter is displayed, such as: Filter, Edit, Remove, among others.
- Copy field
Now, when right-clicking on a field added to the vision, the Copy option, which is quite useful when the user must create a field similar to an existing one, is available.
- Mask template preview
Now, when choosing a mask template to format date/time, the system displays a preview of the data being displayed, preventing the user from applying the format to then view the changes.
It is important to note that, throughout the last versions, the new editor has been improved based on the solution's Design System and on user suggestions. It has also received technological improvements.
Thus, from the new version onwards, the new editor will fully replace the old one. Any future improvements will be made directly to the new editor.
Vision creation through the portal
Vision creation through portals now takes place through the side panel, being fully integrated into the portal.
Now, by clicking on Create vision, the system opens the side panel for the user to select the analysis.
From then on, the flow to be followed is the same as the editing flow, and the main benefit is that the user can preview the changes on the portal.
If necessary, the user can take advantage of an interactive guide that aids in the first configurations.
With this change, there is now a standardization between creating and editing a vision, providing a better and faster experience to the user, mainly due to the lack of a necessity to switch between portal windows and a pop-up window in which the vision was created.
Moreover, adding the vision to the portal is done automatically by the system.
Axis configuration in the Meter and Progress bar charts
It is now possible to configure axes also in the Meter and Progress bar charts, enabling the definition of the limits and the display of the scale.
Highlight empty cells
From this version onwards, Conditional format has gained a facilitator to highlight empty data.
By creating conditional formatting in a field, simply use the Is empty option and define how it should be visually highlighted.
With this feature, it is possible to easily define an exclusive color for when the Deadline or Responsible fields are empty, for example.
Shortcut to edit vision on full screen
It is now possible to edit visions on full screen from the portal.
Over the SoftExpert Analytics card being edited, there will be a link that, when clicked, opens vision editing on a separate screen.
This feature is useful as it keeps the user from going to the vision record to open OLAP on a separate screen in order to edit.
Increase in horizontally supported cards
The portal used to support up to 4 cards horizontally, and that number has increased to 6.
With this improvement, it is possible to distribute cards more efficiently, taking advantage of spaces, especially when visions do not require a lot of space to display their information.
For further details, refer to the Workspace release notes.
Portal to monitor the use of SoftExpert Analytics
From this version onwards, a template portal is available, allowing the user to track all requests that have gone through SoftExpert Analytics.
This is particularly useful when it is necessary to analyze information more quickly and easily than the current view menu.
To use this portal, simply go to Portals > See all > Import portal and choose the SE Analytics Monitor option.
Identify the analysis that triggered the query
Now, whenever SoftExpert Analytics sends a query to the database, a comment with the analysis ID # is placed at the start of the query.
This ID # makes it easy to access the analysis whenever necessary; moreover, a user with permission in the analysis may, for example, apply any adjustments to the query suggested by the DBA.
Materialized table name
On the analysis screen, from this version onwards, the system displays the materialized table name, facilitating cases in which a materialized table must be used in the query of another analysis.
Warning on datatypes not supported by SoftExpert Suite
From this version onwards, the system warns the user whenever an unsupported datatype is being used in the analysis query.
The need to remove the field with the invalid datatype or to apply a conversion to a supported datatype will be indicated.
The objective of this warning is to avoid interrupting the database equalizer during the next SoftExpert Suite update when finding an unsupported datatype.
