Creating a palette
Prerequisite
- Access to the Configuration > Palette (PM020) menu.
Introduction
Palettes group visual elements used in process modeling, such as shapes, connectors, and other diagram components.
Each palette can be configured for a specific type of diagram (BPMN, Macroflow or Flowchart), facilitating modeling organization and standardization.
See below how to create and configure the palettes so that they are loaded automatically during the modeling of the processes.
Creating a palette
1. Access the Configuration > Palette (PM020) menu.
2. Click on the
button.
3. On the screen that will be opened, enter an ID # and a name for the palette. If necessary, use the Description field to add more information about the record.
4. In the General tab, select the type of diagram in which the palette will be used: BPMN, Macro-process, or Flowchart.
5. Click on the
button.

6. After saving the record, access the Security control tab and click on
to configure user access to the palette.
7. In the Access type field, define whether specific users or all users will have access to the palette. If the User option is selected, use the filters to search for and select the intended users.
8. In the Controls field, check the Load palette automatically option so that the palette is displayed automatically to the users defined through the Access type field.
9. Once the configurations are all set, click on the
button.

Configuring a palette
After creating the palette, it is necessary to configure it in order to define which items will be available in the process modeler.
1. Access the Configuration > Palette (PM020) menu.
2. Select the palette you wish to configure.
3. Click on More, from the toolbar, and select the Configuration option to open the configuration wizard screen.

4. In the Add items to the palette step, the items that will be displayed on the modeler's item panel must be configured. By default, the palette will already be configured according to the BPMN specifications.

Enable this field to allow changing the symbol of the selected item. After enabling it, the following options will be available:
|

8. After configuring the symbol of the items, click on the Finish button.
Conclusion
Once the palette is created and properly configured, it will be displayed for use in the item panel during the modeling of a process. Thus, only the items configured in the palette will be available in the process modeler to the users defined with the Load palette automatically control.
