Define the FMEA structure

This article is valid until version 2.1.9 of the system. Click here to access the documentation referring to later versions

The objective of an FMEA is to perform the failure analysis based on failure modes, causes, and effects; to do so, it is necessary to assemble the FMEA structure.

To perform these changes, we will use the FMEA created in the Create an FMEA with revision control topic.

To do this, simply follow the steps below.

1. Access the Management > FMEA (FM012) menu.

2. In the Quick search field, search for the previously created FMEA with revision control and click on the button.

3. On the screen that will open, click on the New failure mode button.

4. After that, select the failure mode and repeat the same process by clicking on the New failure effect and New failure cause buttons respectively.

If there are no previously created failure modes, access the Creating failure modes topic on the SoftExpert FMEA menu.

5. Click on the New failure action button and fill out the fields according to the example below:

Thus, we have successfully defined the FMEA structure!
