Stratifying a collection
Prerequisites
- Access to the View > Stratification (SP008) menu.
- Previously created data collection.
Introduction
The collection stratification feature in SoftExpert SPC divides the collection information into groups (strata), allowing users to search for the causes and origins of a problem.
This tool is essential to identify patterns and create charts, and it is one of the seven quality control tools.
In the collection stratification, particularly in the Summary vision, calculations are based on the applied filters.
See below an example of stratifying the desired collection with the summarized vision.
Stratifying a collection with summarized vision
1. Access the View > Stratification (SP008) menu.
2. Select the Summary vision and click on the Add button in the advanced filters.
3. Then, add the desired filters. In this example, we will select the # of points option.
4. Click on the Search button.
5. Select a characteristic and open the desired chart to analyze the information.
Upon applying the filter, note that the result indicates the maximum number of points that will be used per characteristic. The higher the number, the longer the calculation will take.
Conclusion
The collection was stratified successfully! If desired, it is possible to print a report with the obtained results.
