Executing a requirement test by sample
Prerequisites
• Access to the Execution > Requirement test (REQ040) menu;
• Access to the My tasks menu;
• Requirement test by sample enabled in requirement data;
• Test by sample configured in the requirement structure.
Introduction
In the requirement data and in the structure, it is possible to configure and define the date of the next requirement test execution.
After releasing the requirement, the requirement test execution task is generated. It is possible to execute the test through it or through the Execution menu.
This article will teach you to execute a requirement test by sample.
Executing a requirement test by sample
In the video, the execution will be made through the Execution > Requirement test (REQ040) menu, but the operation is also valid for the My tasks menu.
According to the configurations made in the test plan, the test by sample may be both with and without population. In the example used in the video, the applied test has a population.
If the test result is "Failed", it will not be possible to finish it without adding a comment.
For further information on the different sampling methods, refer to the Creating a population article.
Generating samples for tests without population
When a population is not associated with the test plan by sample, the generation of samples during the test execution is different.
1. Access the My tasks > Requirement test execution menu.
2. Select the pending record whose execution will be by sample.
3. Click on the button.
4. In the Sample configuration field, enter the number of samples that must be generated and click on Generate samples.
5. Then, click on Start test and execute the test by sample, as displayed in the video above.
Conclusion
After the execution, the requirement test by sample will be closed and it will disappear from the list of pending records in the Task menu, displaying the "Finished" status in the Execution menu.
