Creating a population type

 

Prerequisite

• Access to the Configuration > Population type (REQ008) menu.

 

Introduction

Learn how to configure a population type that will be used to classify the populations.

For example: it is possible to create a population type named "Food products" to be used to classify products in a foodstuff factory.

 

Creating a population type

1. Access the Configuration > Population type (REQ008) menu.

2. Click on the button.

3. Enter an ID # and a Name for the type.

4. Click on .

 

Additional information

Fill out the Upper level type field if you wish to enter the population type that is one level above the type being created in the hierarchy.

Check the Identification mask option so that, when creating a population of this type, the ID #s of the records are generated automatically.

After enabling the Identification mask, check the Enable ID # change field to allow manually editing the ID #s generated by the system when creating the populations.

Records associated in the Attribute tab are used to complement the information of populations of this type. For further details on attributes and their association, refer to the What is an attribute? and Attribute association articles.

• Configurations made in the Type security tab are the same as the security configurations of the Requirement type, covered in the Configuring the security article.
