Executing the closure of a project

Prerequisites

Introduction

The closure of a project is the final step of its life cycle. This process formalizes the end of the project, preventing new changes from being made and consolidating its information for future analysis.

Below, see the steps for closing a project in the system, which complete the example developed in the flow:

Executing the closure of a project

1. Access the My tasks > Project > Project closure menu.

2. Locate and select the desired project.

3. Click on the toolbar button.

4. If there are any hindrances to the closure, the system will communicate the necessary adjustments. To correct the project data, click on the toolbar button and make the necessary changes. If the issue is in the project structure, click on the button to access the project schedule and make the necessary adjustments.

5. If there are no hindrances, the system will ask if you wish to move the project to the next step. Click on OK for the project to go to one of the following steps:

  • Approval: if the "Closure step?" option is checked in the project type, the system will generate the project approval to-do task for the responsible parties.
  • Closure: if the project does not have approval configured in its type, it will be closed.

This operation can also be performed through the Management > Project tracking (PR013) menu.

Conclusion

Once the described steps are followed, the project will be duly closed or sent to the approval step, depending on the defined configuration.

Thus, the project planning flow has come to its end! Access other SoftExpert Project resources in the introduction article.
