Creating population templates for audit tests
Prerequisites
- Access to the File > Audit test > Population (AU036) menu.
- Previously created population type.
Introduction
A population consists of a set of individuals, objects, or products containing the characteristics on which requirement tests will be conducted.
The goal of creating a population is to generate a database that allows for selecting the samples to be used in audit tests.
See how to create the population templates that will be part of the test plans applied to audit tests:
Creating a population
1. Access the File > Audit test > Population (AU036) menu.
2. Click on the button.
3. Select a population type and click on the button.
4. Enter an ID # and a name for the population.
5. Click on the Save button.

6. Once the record is saved, new fields will be enabled for completion. Watch the video for more details:
Data types in the Population fields tab
- Text: the field will allow for inserting text-type data.
- Numeric: the field will allow for inserting number-type data. The system allows for editing the Size/Precision field.
- Date: the field will allow for selecting a date.
- Currency: the field will allow for inserting monetary values.
- Memo: the field will allow for adding memos, which are larger texts.
- Business unit: a business unit must be inserted in the field.
Once a data type is selected, the Size/Precision field will be enabled for the user to specify the maximum number of characters with which data must be inserted, or to keep the system's default size.
If values are inserted for both the maximum number of samples and the population percentage, the maximum number value will prevail. Thus, if the population percentage exceeds the defined maximum value, the maximum value will be used for the selection of the samples.
Editing a population
Once the population template is released, if changes are needed, a new revision must be generated for the record.
1. Access the File > Audit test > Population (AU036) menu.
2. Select the released population template and click on the button.
3. On the Population data screen, click on the Enable editing button and confirm the operation.

4. Make the necessary changes.
5. Click on the Accept revision button and confirm the operation.
The Revision tab lists all the revisions through which the population record has gone. Use the side toolbar button to view the data of the record's selected version.
Conclusion
The population template will be ready for use in audit tests.
