Editing a period

Prerequisites

  • Access to the File > Period (OK001) menu.
  • Previously created period.

Introduction

A period is a record that defines the time in which an objective must be achieved. It is an essential tool to ensure the success of objectives, as it enables the key result check-in frequency according to the changes in the company context or strategy.

After creating a period and associating it with an objective, it is possible to edit it. See how to perform this operation:

Editing a period

1. Access the File > Period (OK001) menu.

2. Use the filters to locate the desired period.

3. Click on the period to open its summary screen.

4. Perform the necessary changes in the desired fields, such as editing the Name, Period start and end dates, or Check-in updates.

In the Check-in update field, select the desired option to define the frequency in which the actual key result execution data must be added to the system. In other words, this will define the deadline for the generated check-in tasks. Completion options are: Weekly, Biweekly, or Monthly.

5. Click on the Save button to apply the changes.

Viewing objectives associated with the period

By clicking on a period in the File > Period (OK001) menu, its summary screen is displayed on the side of the screen. The list of objectives associated with the period is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Moreover, by hovering the mouse over an objective, the Open data button will be available, simplifying the direct access to detailed information on them.

Deleting a period

1. Access the File > Period (OK001) menu.

2. Hover the mouse over the desired period and click on the button that will be displayed.

3. Confirm the system message to remove the period. Make sure the correct period is selected, as this action is irreversible.

Conclusion

The deadlines of existing check-in tasks will not be regenerated. The new configuration established for the Check-in update will be applied exclusively to future tasks.

Changing the period dates will not affect the status of associated objectives.

The period status does not allow editing, being automatically adjusted based on the established period. If the end date is earlier than or equal to the current date, the status will be configured as In progress; otherwise, it will be checked as Finished.

It is also important to point out that:

  • The duration of the period must be enough for key results to be achieved.
  • The check-in frequency must be appropriate to track the key result progress.
