Executing downtime records

Prerequisites

Introduction

The downtime record menu is an essential tool in the system for monitoring and managing interruptions in asset usage. This menu allows for recording and analyzing the periods in which assets remain inactive for various reasons, such as maintenance, verification, or power outages, directly contributing to optimizing operating time and process efficiency.

Main screen structure

Designed to facilitate access to and management of information, the interface of this menu is divided into three quadrants:

First quadrant - Search filters panel

Provides advanced filters for quickly locating assets and their downtime records, thus simplifying monitoring and facilitating operational control.

Second quadrant - Asset view:

Shows a list with the assets created in the system. Selecting an asset in this quadrant allows for accessing its details and downtime history.

Third quadrant - Downtime records:

Displays downtime records for the asset selected in the second quadrant, including duration and reasons, providing a detailed view of interruptions.

Executing a downtime record

1. Access the Execution > Downtime record (MA047) menu.

2. From the list of records in the second quadrant, select the desired asset.

3. Click on the button from the third quadrant.

4. From the General tab, in the Downtime reason field, select the downtime reason of the asset.

5. In the Start field, enter the downtime date and time of the asset.

6. Fill in the End field when the downtime end date and time of the asset arrive.

This field can only be filled in now if the downtime end date of the asset precedes or is equal to the current date.

If this field is not filled in now, once the record is saved, the Downtime record issuance task will be generated. The end date can be set later through the task or through the Downtime record (MA047) menu.

7. In the Comments field, provide important information about the asset downtime.

8. Click on the button to enable the other tabs.

9. In the Attribute tab, enter the value of the displayed attributes. This tab will be displayed only if the selected downtime reason has attributes associated. For further details, click here.

10. In the Approval route tab, see information on the downtime record approval process. This tab will be displayed only if the selected downtime reason is configured with the approval step. For further details, click here.

11. Click on the button to save the record.

The Total field of the General tab automatically calculates the total number of hours during which the asset will remain idle, according to the data entered in the Start and End fields.

Conclusion

Once the downtime record is saved, a corrective maintenance activity will be created automatically if the "Create corrective maintenance when generating a downtime record" option is checked in the downtime reason data.

This tool is crucial for any operation seeking to maximize efficiency and productivity by providing essential data for an efficient management as to asset operation time.
