Defining the category security
Prerequisites
- Access to the Configuration > Category (CT005) menu.
- Created category.
- Configured permission profile.
Introduction
The security of categories must be configured correctly, as it influences the security of customer records.
Follow the steps below and learn how to define the security of a category:
Defining the category security
1. Access the Configuration > Customer > Category (CT005) menu.
2. Select an existing category.
3. Click on the button.
4. Access the Category security tab.
5. From the button bar, click on the button.
6. On the screen that will open, in the Access type field, select the access type of the parties involved in the security of the category.
Options available in the "Access type" field:
Team | Members of a registered team. |
Organizational unit | Users from a certain business unit/department of the organization. |
Department/Position | Users from a specific department of the organization, who have a specific position. |
Position | Users who hold a specific position in the organization. |
User | A specific user. |
All | All users who have access to the SoftExpert Customer component. |
7. In the Permission profile field, select the profile with the actions that the users can take.
Options available in the "Controls" field:
Add | The users will be allowed to add data related to the category. |
Edit | The users will be allowed to edit data related to the category. |
Delete | The users will be allowed to delete data related to the category. |
Security data | The users will be allowed to edit security data related to the category. |
List | The users will be allowed to view the category of the system hierarchies. |
View | The users will be allowed to view data related to the category. |
8. Find and select the users defined for the security rules.
9. To finish the configuration, click on the Save and exit button.
