Associating an object
Prerequisites
- Access to the SoftExpert SPC > Management > Collection planning (SP003) menu.
- Access to the SoftExpert SPC > Management > FMEA (FM012) menu.
- Access to the My tasks > Workflow > Activity execution menu.
- Previously created and released object.
Introduction
Once objects are configured correctly, they can be associated with system records.
The association mode differs depending on the component in which an object is used. See how to perform the association:
Associating an object in SoftExpert SPC
See how to associate an object with a data collection configuration:
1. Access the Management > Collection planning (SP003) menu.
2. Click on the arrow next to the button and select the New option.
3. In the Type of object to be collected field, select the Free object option.
4. In the Object field, use the button to search for and select the object to be collected.
5. Set the other configurations necessary for the collection and click on the button.

Associating an object in SoftExpert FMEA
Objects are only used to create object FMEAs. To this end, in the Object FMEA field of the selected FMEA type, the Object FMEA option must be selected.
The creation of object FMEAs is available only for 4th-edition FMEAs.
See how to associate an object when creating an object FMEA:
1. Access the Management > FMEA (FM012) menu.
2. Click on the arrow next to the button and select the New FMEA option.
3. Select the FMEA type that will classify the FMEA being created and click on the button.
4. In the Object field, define the object in which the FMEA will be drafted.
5. Select which revision of the object will be used.
6. Provide the other FMEA data and click on the Save and exit button.

Associating an object in SoftExpert Workflow
See how to associate an object when executing a workflow activity
1. Access the My tasks > Workflow > Activity execution menu.
2. Select the activity with which the object will be associated and click on the button.
3. On the left side of the screen, select the Associations field.
4. Click on the Associate button.
5. In the Association type field, choose the Administration > Object option.
6. In the Relationship type field, keep the Association option selected.
7. Use the Object field to select the item you wish to associate. It is possible to associate multiple objects simultaneously.
8. Click on the Save button.

9. Proceed with the execution of the activity.
