Creating a requirement mapping

Prerequisites

• Access to the File > Requirement mapping (REQ024) menu;
• Requirement released;
• Business unit created in SoftExpert Administration.

Introduction

Learn how to create a requirement mapping, used to map the applicability and the implementation of requirements in the business units of the organization.

It displays the application of the compliance and works as a verification for the rules and regulations established for the business.

The mapping is used to connect the requirement to the object to which it is applied. It is necessary to consider the needs of the organization when choosing the object during the creation of the mapping.

For our example, we will map the ISO9000 requirement created in the previous articles for the Documentation department of the SoftExpert Brazil business unit.

Creating a requirement mapping

Follow the steps below to create a mapping:

1. Access the File > Requirement mapping (REQ024) menu.

2. Click on the arrow next to the button and select the Business unit option.

3. Select the requirement that will be mapped and click on

4. On the screen that will be opened, enter an ID # and a name.

5. If necessary, edit the Requirement field to change the record to be mapped. Note that only released requirements will be available for selection.

6. Select the Business unit for which the selected requirement should be implemented or in compliance.

7. The Responsibility field is filled out by the system with the user who is creating the mapping. Edit this information if you wish to switch the responsible user.

8. Select the Responsible team for the mapping that is being created.

9. Click on Save to enable the other configurations.

10. After saving, it is possible to configure the mapping security, view the history of events that took place in the record, and map the requirement through the Structure tab.

11. Click on Save and exit.

The Attribute tab will be available if attributes were associated with the mapping in the Requirement type. Access the Attribute completion article for further information.

Not all steps above are necessary to create a category; this article aims to cover all available general resources. Use the steps that are necessary to you.

Conclusion

Once the mapping is created, it is possible to map requirements.
