Configuring the requirement structure

Prerequisites

• Access to the File > Requirement (REQ021) menu;
• Previously created reference requirement.

Introduction

This article will teach you to configure the requirement structure.

After creating the main requirement, also called reference requirement, we can assemble its structure. It is important to note that this can only be made while the requirement status is "Draft", when its revision control is based on ISO9000 standards, or "Under revision", when its revision template is simplified.

The structure must be assembled when the reference requirement has sub-requirements or is being used in an audit.

Audits can only be executed within the system if SoftExpert Audit is part of the solutions acquired by your organization.

Additional information

The Data option on the toolbar allows viewing the data screen of the requirement selected in the structure.

To export the requirement structure to an Excel file, simply click on Export.

The Expand option allows viewing the requirements that are associated with the lower levels of another requirement in the structure. This option will only be available if there are requirements with lower levels in the structure.

The Collapse option hides the requirements that are at the lower levels of another requirement. This option will only be available if there are requirements with lower levels in the structure.

For a better understanding of the structure functioning, it is important to point out that:

Lower level requirements are "children" of another requirement, that is, they are a level below the "parent" requirement, and they may be guidance and lowest level requirements.

Lowest level requirements are those without requirements in lower levels, that is, without "children" requirements.

The requirement structure detail field displays the DR/BC plan tab, which displays the disaster recovery and business continuity plans that are associated with the selected requirement.

The plans are created and the requirements are associated through the Execution > DR/BC plan (RI404) menu of the SoftExpert Risk component; thus, for data to be displayed on the tab, the SoftExpert Risk component must be part of the solutions acquired by your organization.

Attributes are only displayed when creating the sub-requirements if they were associated in the Requirement structure attribute tab of the Requirement type data screen.

Conclusion

Once the requirement structure is assembled, we must finish editing the requirement.
