Enabling tests in the requirement type

Prerequisite

• Access to the Configuration > Requirement type (REQ009) menu.

Introduction

Requirement types are used to classify records.

They gather configurations that are applied to all requirements created under this type, such as automatically generating ID #s, controlling the validity, and enabling requirement tests.

In this article, the created types will be used to classify requirements that will go through a test.

Enabling tests in the requirement type

All steps to create and configure the requirement type have been covered in the Configuring a requirement type article.

This article will cover the configurations necessary to enable the requirement test.

Note that two examples will be used to work with the different requirement test types.

One requirement type named Documentation will classify the requirements used to evaluate software.

And another type named ISO standards, which will be used to classify requirements used to evaluate food products.

To enable the requirement test in the types, perform the following steps:

1. Access the Configuration > Requirement type (REQ009) menu.

2. Find and select the requirement type.

3. Click on the button.

4. In the General tab, enable the Allow requirement test field.

5. Click on .

Repeat the steps for both examples.

Thus, when creating requirements with the created types, the Requirement test tab will be enabled.

Conclusion

Once the types are created, the next step is using them to create the requirements that will go through a requirement test.
