Associating a defect

 

Prerequisites

  • Access to the FMEA > File > Characteristic (FM040) menu.
  • Access to the PDM > File > Characteristic (IT004) menu.
  • Access to the SPC > File > Characteristic (SP021) menu.
  • Access to the Process > File > Characteristic (PM054) menu.
  • Access to the Supply > File > Characteristic (SU003) menu.
  • Access to the Maintenance > Execution > Activity execution (MA010) menu.
  • Previously created attribute-type characteristic.
  • Previously created defect.

 

Introduction

After creating a defect, it is necessary to associate it with a characteristic or activity to use it correctly. If it is associated with a characteristic, it must be of the Attribute type.

See the menus for this association and the steps to perform this operation below:

FMEA Access the File > Characteristic (FM040) menu.
PDM Access the File > Characteristic (IT004) menu.
SPC Access the File > Characteristic (SP021) menu.
Process Access the File > Characteristic (PM054) menu.
Supply Access the File > Characteristic (SU003) menu.
Maintenance Access the Execution > Activity execution (MA010) menu.

 

Associating a defect with a characteristic

1. Access the menu that corresponds to the component with which you wish to associate the defect.

2. Click on the or the button on the toolbar to add or edit a characteristic, respectively. 

3. On the screen that will be opened, access the Defects section.

4. Click on on the side toolbar to associate a defect with the characteristic.

5. Click on the button to save the changes.

 

Associating a defect with the Maintenance component

1. Access the Execution > Activity execution (MA010) menu.

2. In the list of records, select the desired activity.

3. On the screen that will be opened, access the Problems tab.

4. Select the Defect section.

5. Click on the button on the side toolbar to add a defect.

6. Click on Save and exit.

 

Conclusion

Thus, the defect has been associated with a characteristic or activity. Associated defects will be used by managers to view and, later on, plan resolutive actions.
