Registering and synchronizing license keys

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Configuration > License key (CM009) menu.
  • License key code.

Introduction

License keys are codes used to activate the system's components acquired by an organization.

They are generated in accordance with the agreement signed between said organization and SoftExpert.

If any change is made to the license key, whether it is switched or a new one is added, SoftExpert Suite must be activated.

Synchronizing license keys

For organizations using the SoftExpert cloud platform, automatic key synchronization is available.

In these cases, the synchronization runs once a day and, as a result, the keys to which the organization has access are registered automatically.

Although automatic synchronization is executed on a daily basis, it is possible to use a button on the license key data screen to execute it manually. To perform this operation, follow the steps described below:

1. Access the Configuration > License key (CM009) menu.

2. Click on the Synchronize access keys button. The synchronization will be executed, and the keys acquired by your organization will be available for use.

By clicking on the History button, it is possible to see the history of all manually executed synchronizations.

When a license key is clicked in the list of records, its data screen is displayed, which contains a summary of its information and a list with the components that are part of it.

When hovering the mouse over a license key in the list of records, the Edit button becomes available; it can be used to change the ID # of the key.

Registering a license key

For on-premise customers who do not use the SoftExpert cloud platform, the automatic key synchronization feature is not available. Therefore, the keys must be registered manually in the system.

To perform this operation, follow the steps described below:

1. Access the Configuration > License key (CM009) menu.

2. Click on the Create button.

3. Enter an ID # for the key.

4. Insert the Access key of the license key.

5. Click on the Save button.

For more information about the features available in each component, according to the licensing profile, refer to the SoftExpert Solutions Catalog.

Conclusion

With the keys properly registered, it is possible to configure access groups.
