Configuring a risk type

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration> Classification > Risk type (PR037) menu.

Introduction

Configuring risk types allows for classifying the various risks that may be identified during the life cycle of a project. This classification makes it easier to analyze, monitor, and handle risks, promoting a more structured preventive management.

All risk types that may be used in the system must be created in the Risk type menu. These types are displayed in a hierarchical structure, which contributes to a better organization and segmentation of the risks by nature, impact, or area of occurrence.

This menu will only be displayed if SoftExpert Risk is NOT part of the solutions acquired by your organization.

Configuring a risk type

1. Access the Configuration> Classification > Risk type (PR037) menu.

2. Enter an ID # and a name for the risk type.

3. Fill in the Upper level type field so that the type is added hierarchically below another one. In this case, the other fields on the type data screen will be filled in with the information of the upper level type, but they can be edited.

4. Click on the button to finish.

Conclusion

Once risk types are added, they will be available to be used in the identification and management of project risks. Click here and learn how to record a risk.
