How schedules work

Introduction

Watch the video below to understand how project, program, and portfolio schedules work in the system:

Toolbar

See the actions available on the toolbar of the schedules, divided by resource tab:

Task/Program/Portfolio

Gantt Chart Among the Gantt chart, Control Gantt, and Detailed Gantt visions, this is a vision parameterized in the view profile for projects and configured by default in the system. If a customized view profile is associated in the type or on the project data screen, the vision and the columns displayed in the main panel will vary according to the configuration set in the view profile. To switch between visions, click on the arrow located below the current vision and select the desired one.
Analysis This is the vision parameterized by default in the view profile for programs. The main panel will display the columns parameterized in the Customize tab of the vision data screen. The displayed vision and columns may vary if, in the program type or at the time of adding the program, a customized view profile has been associated. To switch between visions, click on the arrow located below the current vision and select the desired one.
Compare It allows for viewing, in the graphical panel, a comparison between the duration of an object and its planned, rescheduled, and actual intervals.
Summary It allows for viewing summary information of projects and programs in the structure, without the need to access their data screen. To do so, after selecting the project/program, expand the arrow below this option and select the option corresponding to the information you wish to view. Use the arrows found in the upper part of the screen that will be displayed to navigate to the previous or next summary field and to view the information of another program/project in the structure.
Add It allows for adding tasks, recurring tasks, projects, recurring projects, and programs.
Edit This button will be displayed if the program has a recurring project in its structure. In this case, select a recurring project and use this button to edit the responsible party, the recurrence pattern, and the range of recurrence. In the lower part of the displayed screen, it is also possible to delete the recurring project (it will be removed from the program structure, and the record will be deleted from the system) or to disassociate it from the program (it will be removed from the program structure, but its record will keep existing in the system).
Summary task It adds a task that may have child tasks.
Milestone It allows for adding a new milestone.
Delete It allows for discarding the object selected in the list on the main panel.
Data It allows for viewing the data screen of the project or program selected in the Program panel.
Gantt It provides actions for information display: SE GanttChart (this option is enabled when a project is selected in the main panel) and Schedule (it shows the project schedule or program schedule, according to the element selected in the main panel).
Task data It allows for editing/viewing the data of the task selected in the project structure.
Task details It allows for configuring the details of the task selected in the project structure.
Cancel/Reactivate It allows for cancelling or reactivating the execution of the task selected in the project structure.
Replace It allows for replacing the data of the task selected in the project structure.
Schedule (section) It provides buttons for moving, executing, and verifying tasks.
File form It allows for associating a file form with the project task selected in the structure.
Requirement It allows for associating a requirement with the project task selected in the structure.
Expand It allows for expanding the structure of the object selected in the main panel, if it is collapsed.
Collapse It allows for collapsing the structure of the object selected in the main panel, if it is expanded.
Enlarge It allows for increasing the timescale in the graphical panel, making it possible to view the duration period of the tasks and subprojects in a more detailed manner. This operation can also be performed through zoom control.
Reduce It allows for decreasing the timescale in the graphical panel, making it possible to view the duration period of the tasks and subprojects in a broader manner. This operation can also be performed through zoom control.
Fit to window It allows for adjusting the timescale of the chart to the size of the panel.

A milestone is an important reference point in a project, program, or portfolio that indicates the completion of a phase, the achievement of an objective, or the occurrence of a major event. They are meant as progress indicators and help monitor the development of a project, facilitating tracking and time management.

Resource

Add It allows for allocating a resource to the task selected in the main panel. This resource may be a human resource (labor) or an asset from the Asset component.
Calendar It allows for accessing the calendar of the resource allocated to the task selected in the main panel.
Replace It allows for replacing a resource allocated to the task selected in the main panel with another resource.

Project

Subproject It allows for adding a subproject to the structure.
Project data It allows for viewing the data of the project linked to the schedule.

View

Filter It filters the type of information displayed in the vision. For example: if the Milestone option is selected, only milestone tasks will be displayed in the main panel and in the graphical panel.
Highlight It filters the type of information that will be highlighted in yellow in the table area. For example: if the Milestone option is selected, all milestone tasks will be displayed highlighted in yellow.
Use filter in timeline The configured filter is also applied to the timeline of the schedule.
Tables It allows for editing a set of columns preconfigured with information about the objects of the structure, with the possibility of defining what will be displayed in the main panel. For a set not to be displayed, keep the corresponding option unchecked.
Critical path It highlights the sequence of tasks considered critical for the project. A critical path consists of a sequence of linked tasks that directly affect the end date of a project, that is, if one of these tasks is delayed, the project will be as well.

Format

Configurations It contains the Display field to allow for defining the information that will be displayed on the left and right side of the bar that represents each object in the graphical panel.
Save vision It saves the customizations applied to the vision that is being used in the schedule. Customizations will only be applied to the logged user, that is, they will not be replicated to the visions of the view profile associated with the project.
Restore It restores the vision displayed in the schedule to the original configurations and parameterizations set in the record.

Timeline

Timeline It displays the timeline of the object in the upper part of the main panel and of the graphical panel. The timeline feature allows for highlighting the tasks, projects, and programs considered important, such as meetings, milestones, etc. Click again on this button to hide the timeline.
Configured tasks It displays on the timeline only the tasks that have the "Display on timeline" option checked on the data screen.
All tasks It displays on the timeline all the tasks that compose the project structure, regardless of whether the "Display on timeline" option is checked or not on the data screen.
Task It displays project tasks on the timeline. If this option is not checked, the project tasks will not be displayed.
Summary task It displays summary project tasks on the timeline. If this option is not checked, the summary tasks will not be displayed.
Milestone It displays project milestones on the timeline. If this option is not checked, the project milestones will not be displayed.
Consider start and end date It represents the tasks as a straight line on the timeline, considering the rescheduled start and end dates.
Consider start date It represents the tasks as a point on the timeline, considering the rescheduled start date only.
Consider end date It represents the tasks as a point on the timeline, considering the rescheduled end date only.
Add actual and estimated date vision It adds a comparative vision between the actual and estimated dates of the tasks on the timeline; available for configurations that consider rescheduled dates.
Enlarge It increases the timescale on the timeline, highlighting the duration period of the tasks and subprojects in a more detailed manner.
Reduce It decreases the timescale on the timeline, highlighting the duration period of the tasks and subprojects in a broader manner.
