SoftExpert Project widgets

 

Prerequisite

Access to the SoftExpert Suite portal menu.
 

Introduction

Widgets are used on portals to graphically display the metrics of projects, programs, and portfolios.

SoftExpert Project has the following widgets available:

 

Project progress

This widget displays the project progress chart, considering the planned, rescheduled, and actual data.

1. After dragging this widget to the panel of the portal, click on the button on the right side of the card.

2. Enter a title for the chart, select the project that will be shown in the chart, and define the type of information that will be displayed in the chart:

  • Details: in the Chart options section, enter the frequency in days, weeks, or months that will be displayed in the project progress chart.
  • Summary: in the Display section, keep checked the options that must be shown in the project progress chart (Planned, Rescheduled, and Actual).

3. Click on the button so that the chart is displayed in the widget.

4. Use the button to edit the display of the chart.

 

EVM Performance

This widget displays the EVM (Earned Value Management) performance chart, considering the CPI, SPI, SCI, and HPI.

1. After dragging this widget to the panel of the portal, click on the button on the right side of the card.

2. Enter a title for the chart, select the project that will be shown in the chart, and select the index that will be used as range for the chart.

3. Click on the button so that the chart is displayed in the widget.

4. Use the button to edit the display of the chart.

 

Timeline

This widget displays the timeline of projects created in the system.

1. After dragging this widget to the panel of the portal, click on the button on the right side of the card.

2. Enter a title for the timeline and select the project that will be displayed on it.

3. Click on Save so that the chart is displayed in the widget.

 

Program

This widget displays the statuses of the programs created in the system.

1. After dragging this widget to the panel of the portal, click on the button on the right side of the card.

2. On the screen that will be displayed, fill in the following fields:

  • Title: enter a title for the panel
  • Object: define whether only the programs or the structure (subprograms and projects) of the selected programs will be displayed.
  • View profile: define the program information that will be displayed: summary (shows basic information), details (shows all information of all visions), deadline (shows planned, rescheduled, and actual dates), resource (shows the number of allocated hours), and result (shows total costs and revenues, as well as the gross margin).
  • Type: fill in this field to define that the programs of a certain type will be displayed in the widget. Check the "Display lower level records" option so that the subtype programs of the selected type are also displayed in the panel.

3. Click on the button in the Program section.

4. Select the programs you wish to display in the widget. Note that, if the "Type" option is defined, the system will display the programs of the selected type, as well as those selected through this option.

5. Click on the button so that the chart is displayed in the widget.

It is possible to view the data of a program by double-clicking on it.

 

 

Portfolio

This widget displays the statuses of the portfolios created in the system.

1. After dragging the widget to the panel of the portal, click on the link shown to edit the content of the card.

2. In the side panel, configure the following fields and options:

  • Title: enter a title for the panel
  • View profile: select one of the options shown to define the portfolio information that will be displayed: details (shows all information of all visions), deadline (shows information referring to the planned, rescheduled, and actual execution), resource (shows the number of allocated hours), or result (shows total costs and revenues, as well as the gross margin).
  • Show all levels: enable this option so that portfolios are displayed with their structure expanded (the projects and programs that compose them will be shown expanded as well). If this option is not checked, the portfolios will be displayed collapsed and their information can be viewed when they are clicked or expanded.
  • Portfolio type selection: use this section to define that the portfolios of a certain type will be displayed in the widget. To do so, select the desired portfolio type. Enable the Display lower level records option so that the subtype portfolios of the selected type are also displayed in the card.
  • Select portfolios: use this field to define the specific portfolios that will be displayed in the card. To do so, check the desired portfolios.

3. After setting the desired configurations, click on Save so that the portfolios are displayed in the widget.

When the mouse is hovered over a portfolio, the View data option will be shown.

 

 

Earned value

This widget displays the Earned value evolution chart, considering the PV, EV, AV, and Conclusive index.

1. After dragging this widget to the panel of the portal, click on the button on the right side of the card.

2. Enter a title for the chart and select the project that will be displayed in it.

3. Click on the button so that the chart is displayed in the widget.

4. Use the button to edit the display of the chart.
