Prerequisite
- Access to the Configuration > Event (ST043) menu.
Introduction
In the Event menu, you can create a set of rules that can trigger automatic actions in the system, such as sending email alerts and generating action plans.
These rules can be linked to the indicators monitored by the scorecard, helping to track deviations and ensuring quick responses to critical situations.
This article will demonstrate, step by step, how to set up an event.
Configure event
1. Access the Configuration > Event (ST043) menu.
2. Click the button
.
3. Provide an identifier and a name for the event.
4. Fill in the fields on the General tab. The General tab contains the fundamental fields for defining the event's behavior.
General
Generate event for the component
Select the component that will receive the action triggered by the event:
- Workflow : The system will initialize a workflow related to the event. Specify the workflow type.
- Alert (email) : Sends notifications to users who have permission to receive alerts. Requires a configured email server, email sending enabled, and email addresses registered for each user.
- Action plan : An action plan will be generated based on the selected action plan template.
Responsible user
Define the responsible user if you select Workflow or Action Plan in the previous field.
Track configuration
Define how the indicator measurement will be interpreted in the rules:
- The bigger the better (the text in the Rules tab will be displayed as SMALLER).
- The smaller the better (the text in the Rules tab will be displayed as LARGER).
- Stabilize (requires the measurement to be within a range, using LARGER or LOWER).
Apply rule starting from
Define the date from which the rules become effective.
Automatically generate the event after __ consecutive deviation(s)
Specify how many times the rule must be met before the event is triggered.
Automatically reset the deviation count after an event is generated .
Generate event only at the end of the accumulation period .
Stop processing the rule .
Rules
The Rules tab presents different conditions that, when met, trigger the event. The list includes rules based on:
- Measurement deviation.
- Cumulative measurement deviation.
- Percentage higher or lower than expected.
The text of the rules is automatically adapted according to the range configuration .
Custom rule
The Custom Rule tab is displayed only if this option is selected in the Rules tab . It is possible to create complex rules by combining logical conditions.
5. Click the button
to save and enable the Related Indicator tab.

6. The Related Indicator tab allows you to associate the event with scorecard indicators.
Related indicator
To add an indicator, click the Associate button . Locate and select the desired indicator and confirm the association.
Related indicators should have the same range configuration as the event.
The list will display the scorecards whose indicators use the event.
You can view scorecard data by clicking on it.
7. After completing all the settings, save the record. The event will be ready to be applied to the scorecard indicators.
To generate an event for the SoftExpert Workflow component, the component must be part of the solutions acquired by the organization.
To generate an event for the SoftExpert Action Plan component, the component must be part of the solutions acquired by the organization.
Conclusion
The event feature is essential for automating responses to deviations in SoftExpert Performance indicators. It allows you to create flexible and robust rules, associate them with specific indicators, and automatically trigger corrective actions, alerts, or investigations, ensuring greater control, traceability, and efficiency in performance management.
