Adding a monitored event

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Monitored event (TC029) menu.
  • Access to the Tools > My calendar menu.
  • Access to the Tools > Timesheet menu.

Introduction

A monitored event in SoftExpert Time control allows for triggering automatic notifications based on specific conditions during the execution of nonproject tasks.

This resource is useful to warn users about tasks of not so great complexity or to record personal events, such as sick leave, day off, and vacation.

These events are associated with timesheets or calendars, which are found in the menus available in the tools of the system.

See below how to add a monitored event:

Adding a monitored event

1. Access the Configuration > Monitored event (TC029) menu.

2. Click on the toolbar button to add an event.

3. On the screen that will open, select a task type.

4. Then, enter an ID # and a name for the monitored event.

5. In the Color field, choose the color that will identify the monitored event in the resource's calendar.

6. In the Pattern field, select a default visual composition that will identify the monitored event in the resource's calendar.

7. Lastly, click on the button to save the changes.

Associating a monitored event with a calendar

For a monitored event to be used, it must be added to a calendar or timesheet. See below how to add it to a calendar:

1. Access the Tools > My calendar menu.

2. Select a date in the calendar.

3. Expand the Create button and click on the Monitored event option.

4. On the screen that will open, select the event in the corresponding field.

5. In the Period section, enter the start date, end date, and hours per day.

6. If you wish, fill in the Comment field.

7. To finish the event allocation, click on the button.

To add an event through a timesheet, follow the steps below:

1. Access the Tools > Timesheet menu.

2. Expand the Add task button and click on the "Monitored event" option.

3. On the screen that will open, select an existing monitored event and click on OK.

4. Then, it will be possible to enter time for the monitored event.

Thus, it is possible to add monitored events in the system.
