Adding a survey type

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Survey type (SV020) menu.

Introduction

In order to create a record in "Test" mode, we need to add and configure a survey type.

Types categorize records and set up some of their resources, such as planning approval, critical analysis, closure, attributes, and template revisions.

See how to add and configure survey types:

Adding a survey type

1. Access the Configuration > Survey type (SV020) menu and click on the button.

2. Fill in the ID # and Name fields.

3. If you wish, in the Upper survey type field, click on the button and select the type that is hierarchically above this one.

4. If you wish to use an identification mask, check the Use mask for identification option and select a record in the Identification mask field.

To learn how to use an identification mask, access the What is an identification mask? article.

5. If you wish for the survey planning to go through approval, check the Planning approval option and select the Route type and the Responsibility route in the corresponding fields.

6. If you wish for the records to go through the critical analysis step, check the Critical analysis option and select the Route type and the Responsibility route in the corresponding fields. Access the Executing the critical analysis of a survey article and learn more.

7. If you wish for the records to go through the closure step, check the Closure option and select the Route type and the Responsibility route in the corresponding fields.

Access the Approval steps in SoftExpert Survey article to understand how approval works in the component.

Steps 6 and 7 can be performed without approval.

8. In the Attribute tab, associate the desired attributes.

To learn how to associate attributes, access the Attribute association article.

9. In the Type security tab, associate the permission profiles with the intended users.

To learn how to associate permission profiles, access the Associating permission profiles in the security article.

Conclusion

Thus, the type has been created and can now be used to add a survey in "Test" mode.
