Configuring a requirement test in the structure

Prerequisites

• Access to the File > Requirement (REQ021) menu;
• Previously created reference requirement;
• Previously created test plan.

Introduction

The structure must be assembled when the reference requirement has sub-requirements or is being used in an audit.

All steps to configure the requirement structure have been covered in the Configuring the requirement structure article.

This article will explain the configurations that must be performed in the requirement structure for the tests to be applied.

Remember that, for our study, two requirements are being edited: ISO 9001 – Quality management system, which will go through a test with a test case, and ISO 22000 - Food safety management system, which will go through a test with a sample.

If the test was enabled in the Requirement test tab, regardless of it being by test case or by sample, it is mandatory for the requirement structure to have at least one requirement sheet.

Configuring a test with a test case in the requirement structure

1. Access the File > Requirement (REQ021) menu.

2. Find and select the requirement under revision.

3. Once the requirement is selected, click on .

4. Execute the steps displayed in the Configuring the requirement structure article to assemble the structure.

5. Select the sub-requirement to be tested.

6. Click on the arrow on the Details field and select the Test case option.

7. Click on the button and select the Test case option.

8. Enter the Name and the Objective of the test case.

9. If desired, enter the necessary Preconditions for the test to be performed.

4. Click on to create more steps or on to close the record.

5. If desired, use the and buttons to re-sort the steps.

There is no limit for test cases and steps per sub-requirement. Create as many as necessary.

12. Click on .

Only the plans configured for a test by sample will be available for selection in the Test plan field.

The Recurrence, Population, and Sampling method fields will be filled out by the system according to the configurations made in the Test plan.

Conclusion

Once the configurations are done in the requirement structure, it is necessary to finish editing the requirement.

Thus, the tests will be generated for execution.

See further details on test execution in the Executing a requirement test by test case and Executing a requirement test by sample articles.
