Defining a service center for third-party calibration

Prerequisite

  • Access to the File > Service center (MA051) menu.

Introduction

A service center defines the people responsible for executing calibration activities, making it easier to identify the team that has worked on previous tasks and locate the responsible contact.

Configuring service centers is crucial for managing technicians' timesheets and for checking how activities are distributed through resources control.

Third-party service centers are used when the calibration activity is executed by service providers.

Creating a third-party service center

Click here and watch the video to learn how to create a third-party service center.

The mandatory steps described in the video for creating the record to be used in the third-party calibration flow are illustrated below, as an example.

Remember to check the Third-party service center option in the record to indicate that the service center does not belong to the organization. This configuration determines the actions of the Resource tab.

Conclusion

Once we are done creating the service center, the next step is to create the third-party calibration activity.
