Creating a maintenance activity with meters and variables

Prerequisites

Introduction

Reading with meters and variables provides greater precision in the maintenance and greater control over assets. In order for a maintenance activity to have meter and variable reading done on an asset, it must be simply created from a standard activity with these resources configured. This way, the maintenance with meters and variables may be of any type (corrective, preventive, and with route), going through the activity plan step or not.

For the example of this article, a corrective maintenance will be created from the standard activity configured in the previous flow step. Just as configured, the meter will refer to the number of kilometers driven by the machine, and the variables will its pressure and the energy consumed by it.

Creating a maintenance activity with meter and variables

To create a maintenance activity, refer to the article covering the specific maintenance type you wish to use:

Remember to use the standard activity with configured meters and variables to create the activity.

After providing the required data and saving the maintenance activity, the Variable reading and Meter reading tabs will be added.

From these tabs, it is possible to view data and insert a reading value for the variables and meters. See how to add reading values through both tabs:

Note that, when the meter or variable is opened, the History tab will be available, which presents all performed readings.

Conclusion

Readings can be inserted in the same way throughout the life cycle of the maintenance activity, even at the moment of executing it. The way in which a maintenance activity is executed is similar for all types. To learn how to execute it, click here.
