Creating characteristics
Introduction
The Characteristic generic resource allows for describing objects in the system with specific properties, facilitating information control and analysis. Characteristics are classified into two types: attribute and variable, with different features and applications.
Attribute characteristics represent qualitative properties, that is, those that cannot be numerically measured.
Variable characteristics, in their turn, are quantitative and allow for precise measurements, with details such as measurement unit, values, limits, and tolerances.
In the Supply, PDM, and Process components, before creating a characteristic, it is necessary to create a type to classify and organize it.
See how to create a type below:
Adding a characteristic type
1. Access the Configuration > Characteristic type menu in the desired component.
2. Click on the button to create a type.
3. On the screen that will open, enter the ID # and name of the record.
4. Finally, click on the button to save the characteristic type.

Then, it will be possible to add characteristics in the components mentioned.
