Configuring procedure types

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Procedure type (MA055) menu.

Introduction

Procedure types are essential for classifying and organizing the procedures created in the system. Procedures are documents that provide detailed instructions on how to carry out maintenance, calibration, or verification processes, functioning as fundamental guides to ensure the correct execution of activities.

Practical example

Suppose you are managing a set of calibration procedures for different types of equipment. Using this resource, you can organize the documents as follows:

Electronic equipment calibration procedures

  • Multimeter calibration: detailed instructions for calibrating multimeters, including required tools, calibration steps, and acceptability criteria.
  • Oscilloscope calibration: step-by-step guide on oscilloscope calibration, ensuring accuracy and conformity.

Mechanical equipment calibration procedures

  • Micrometer calibration: specific documentation on micrometer calibration, with details of each step of the process.
  • Caliper calibration: procedures for ensuring precision in caliper calibration, including necessary checks and adjustments.

Configuring a procedure type

1. Access the Configuration > Procedure type (MA055) menu.

2. Click on the toolbar button.

3. On the screen that will open, enter an ID # and a name for the procedure type.

4. Fill in the Upper level type field in order for the type being created to be the subtype of another type.

5. Click on the button to save the record.

Conclusion

After saving, you will be able to use the record to create a procedure.

With procedure types, document management and the execution of maintenance, calibration, and verification activities become more organized and efficient, ensuring the quality and compliance of processes.
