Configuring measurement units

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Measurement unit (MA044) menu.

Introduction

The Measurement unit (MA044) menu allows for adding and efficiently managing the measurement units used in the system. Measurement units are specific quantities, defined and adopted by convention, imperative for the standardization and accuracy of information in SoftExpert Maintenance.

Examples of measurement units

Mass:

  • kg (kilogram)
  • g (gram)

Temperature:

  • ºC (degree Celsius)

Electric current:

  • A (ampere)

Length:

  • mm (millimeter)
  • cm (centimeter)

Configuring a measurement unit

1. Access the Configuration > Measurement unit (MA044) menu.

2. Click on the toolbar button.

3. On the screen that will open, enter an ID # and a name for the measurement unit.

4. Click on the button to save the record.

Note that, once the record is saved, the Component tab will be enabled. It will present the SoftExpert Suite components that use the measurement unit.

To use the same measurement unit in different components, it is possible to associate it in the desired components. To do so, simply use the button on the main screen.

Conclusion

Once saved, the measurement unit will be ready for use in system records. It can be applied to several cases, such as defining the input and output of a variable in the calibration table and creating a measurement conversion.
