Sending a program to execution

Prerequisites

Introduction

With the whole planning completed concerning data and schedule, the program needs to move on to the next step defined in the work flow. This action sends the program to the execution step, allowing the scheduled tasks to be started.

This article will show how to perform this operation in the system, which ensures that the program can transition properly from the planning to the execution stage.

Sending a program to execution

1. Access the Management > Program planning (PR053) menu.

2. Locate and select the desired program.

3. Expand the More button and click on the Send to next step button.

4. Click on OK when the system asks whether you wish to send the program to the next step. The program will move on to one of the following steps:

  • Approval: if the program type has approval configured, the system will send the program to the Project and program approval (PR012) menu in order for the responsible parties to approve its planning.
  • Project tracking: if the program does not have approval configured in its type, it will be available for tracking through the Program tracking (PR054) menu.

If the operation is cancelled, the program will remain in the planning step. In this case, the program can also be sent to the next step through the Program planning (PR053) menu.

Conclusion

With the program in the execution step, the next step is to track its progress.

Thus, it is possible to analyze in real time the execution of the projects and programs related to the schedule, keeping control over the results.
