Copy data from the FMEA structure

This content was generated by artificial intelligence. To request a review, please email documentacao_se@softexpert.com.

Prerequisites

  • Access the Management > FMEA (FM012) menu.
  • Two or more 4th edition FMEAs registered in the system.
  • Access to the target FMEA structure.
  • Be part of the team responsible for the destination FMEA.

Presentation

The functionality to copy data from the FMEA structure allows you to reuse information already registered in another FMEA, avoiding rework in assembling the structure. With this feature, it is possible to copy elements such as failure modes, effects, causes, controls, and actions , ensuring greater speed and standardization in the analyses.

This option is especially useful when the organization performs similar FMEAs, such as analyses of similar processes, versions of the same product, or assets with equivalent characteristics.

Copy data from the FMEA structure.

1. Access the Management > FMEA (FM012) menu and select the FMEA that will receive the copied data.

2. Click the button to open the FMEA framework.

3. On the structure screen, locate the toolbar and click the Copy data option.

4. In the window that appears, select the source FMEA, which contains the structure to be copied.

5. Select which data from the structure should be copied, according to the options presented by the system.

6. Confirm the operation by clicking the Copy button so that the system starts copying the selected data.

7. Wait for the process to complete and check the structure of the target FMEA, confirming that the data was copied correctly.

8. Click the Save button.

  • If the FMEA type uses revision control, the target FMEA must be under review to allow for changes to the structure.
  • The object type of the target FMEA must be the same as the object type of the source FMEA.
  • You can copy FMEA data by clicking More in the toolbar and then clicking the button . In this case, on the screen that opens, you need to specify the project/process/asset/schedule/object to which the copy will be made.
  • The same action or failure mode/effect/cause/action can only be copied once within the same hierarchy of the structure. For example: The same action cannot be copied twice within the same cause, and so on.
  • Actions will only be displayed in the FMEA structure until they are finalized and if integration with the SoftExpert Action Plan is not enabled in the General Parameters.

Conclusion

The ability to copy data from the FMEA framework is a valuable feature for increasing the efficiency and standardization of analyses.

By reusing already consolidated information, SoftExpert FMEA reduces manual effort, minimizes errors, and contributes to the consistency of risk assessments, strengthening the application of the FMEA methodology within the organization.
